TOWARDS A PARADIGM SHIFT 1

This critical paper is a contribution, based on the project experience and documentation, to the methodological debates on innovation in adult education, especially addressing the involvement and engagement of what is called hard-to-reach adults. The paper is based on and generated from the project’s documentation of its wide range of practices, opening up a wider perspective of empowering hard-to-reach-adults, and linking to the Commission’s adult education innovation and entrepreneurship policy and strategies. The paper is organised in two parts: Part 1 discusses a possible paradigm shift in adult education, including the driving roles of the unemployed adults themselves; Part 2 discusses how this paradigm shift will need a new language, a new discourse.
